Reasons why you must do Good

Sometimes, Christians overlook the truth that we have to do good to every human around them, some will say "I don't want the good I have done to turn out to be bad for me, therefore I'll not do good" while others may say "If I do good for this person, will he/she even appreciate it ". Now, from those two outlined sayings common to some Christians and large numbers of  unbelievers, I want to bring out reasons from the bible why those statements are wrong. From the first statement, the bible says in 1peter 3:13 'And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is Good?' The answer is nobody! And from the passage if ye be followers of that which is Good and now doing good is a good thing, so if you do good, nobody will harm you. And even though the people you've good for turn out to pay you with evil, now you have to bear it and be happy because 1peter 3:14 says "But and if ye  suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled.." It says do not be afraid of their terror, neither be troubled, so if the people pay you back with evil, don't let it trouble you. Some may be afraid that the person he has done good for in time past said so much lies about the good deed, that he wasn't doing good but instead was trying to harm. Today I will tell you that what happened in the place of doing good should not stop you from doing good again be cause Jesus said in Matthew 5:11 "Blessed are ye, when men revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake" so no matter what people did falsely to you because of your good deeds, Jesus says blessed are ye(you)...
Now, for the second outlined statement which says  "If I do good for this person, will he/she even appreciate it ". Jesus said in luke 6:35 "But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil" now, from the passage we see that we are to hope for nothing, so therefore leave out the person's appreciation, it is not needed and your reward will be great, you will be children of the highest which is God and God is kind to the unthankful and to the evil, and you have to act likewise to be His children.
The reason why you are to do good •you are to do good because you love the person and Jesus has commanded us in John 15:12 and 17 and as you're doing good remember that you're not doing it because the person has been so good to you or the person shows love to you but because God wants you and commanded you to do so{luke 6:27,32 and 33} And never forget to do good (Hebrew 13:16)
• Do good so that it will not become sin for you(James 4:17)
Therefore as a christian there is no excuse for you not to do good.
From now onward try to do good to those around you and God will reward you!
God bless you!
